The objective of this manual is to describe the process to be followed in organizing the “Young IT Professional (YITP) Awards”, which can be a reference guide for all the Regional Vice Presidents, EXECOM Members, Awards Committee and Sponsors. This will also be guiding tool for all the Regional and National rounds. It provides an overview of all the awards that are instituted or given by the CSI to acknowledge and motivate individuals and organizations working in the field of IT. The content of this document will be updated for continuous improvement as when the need arises.

Region- II Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, North Eastern States and other areas in East and North-East India
Region-III Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and other areas in Western India
Region- IV Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Orissa and other areas in Central & South Eastern India
Region-V Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
Region- VI Maharashtra and Goa
Region-VII Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andaman and Nicobar, Kerala, Lakshadweep
Region- VIII International


The Young IT Professional Awards are instituted to encourage Researchers, IT professionals, Academicians, Consultants, Entrepreneurs and IT Practitioners in an Organization, or as individuals below 35 years of age in service/ support/training function in the field of Information Technology.

These awards are instituted both at the national as well as at the regional levels. The winners of the each region will qualify for competing in the final national round.


  • To recognize the significant contribution(s) made by a person as mentioned above in IT profession.
  • To motivate upcoming professionals and enhance the prestige of the profession by enabling them to exercise their skills and competencies in the best possible and innovative manner.
  • To directly or indirectly contribute towards the improvement of professional effectiveness in different spheres of life.
  • To motivate young men and women to imbibe the entrepreneurial spirit and thereby encourage more and more people to venture into entrepreneurship, and
  • To encourage contribution in boosting the economy of the country through entrepreneurship.


Any individual below 35 years of age (on 31st March, 2016 of the year in which the award will be given), who are either working professionals, entrepreneurs or researchers and has made significant innovation in the areas of research, academics, and IT applications and services to bring improvement in service, support and training in the field of Information Technology.

Only those individual with minimum of 3 years and maximum 12 years of experience as on 31st March, 2015 can participate in this competition.

An individual or a team of maximum 3 members meeting above eligibility criteria can be nominated by the organization or by the fellow of CSI.
